The More Loved

John Underberg, the most celebrated painter of his generation, is found stabbed on his studio stairs. The only witness is his housekeeper, once his late wife's closest friend, now his lover.

Summoned to answer for his death, she delivers a seductive confession instead: the story of Rose, his muse, whose mysterious death sent him into years of silence before his art returned darker and more celebrated. Now the house itself turns against her account, and a naked figure haunts the halls at night.

The More Loved is a taut, unreliable meditation on obsession, art, and the debts the dead collect from the living.
