The Boleyn Brothers

This is the story of the "West Ham" Pals Battalion during WW1. Four lads from the borough of West Ham, sign up for a bit of adventure - "it will all be over by Christmas!" - and go on to fight in some of the most horrific and deadliest battles of the First World War.

From the basic training on Wanstead Flats through to the deadly meat-grinder of the Somme and finally their epic last stand at Cambrai, the Pals of West Ham saw continuous duty until they were disbanded on 10th February 1918.
Original music based upon the West Ham Battalion March - 'Knife, Fork, Spoon'.

Writer Jonathan Williamson based the narrative on the Battalion’s War Diary. While the central characters are fictional, the timeline and many supporting roles are drawn from real events and individuals recorded in the diary.
