Angel Islington

It's his birthday, and thirty years on the Underground haven't prepared him for this. Covering a shift at Angel, a signalman watches a man in an orange scarf step onto the platform – then a small, silent stranger appears, looks straight at the control room, smiles, and pushes.

His statement is a flood of nerves, birthday guilt and grim Underground trivia. He's sure of everything.

Until the detective reveals the CCTV shows an empty platform.

So who did he see? And why can't he stop shaking?

A tense, darkly funny psychological crime fiction about memory, guilt and the stories we tell ourselves.
